Eni and the recipe for happiness at the FuoriSalone 2024

An experiential journey at the Brera Botanical Garden that takes the visitor to see familiar elements of our everyday life through new eyes.

SunRICE: a path to the joy of discovery

Also for the 2024 edition of the Milan FuoriSalone, within the setting of the Milan Design Week, we are renewing our partnership with Interni from 15 to 25 April to invite the public to immerse themselves in a path dedicated to the power of innovative ideas and skills, and how these make possible solutions and applications of circular economy and sustainability. The narrator is rice, interpreted in new forms and new concepts through SunRICE at theBrera Botanical Garden, created in collaboration with Niko Romito, as part of the Interni Cross Vision exhibition. The project is by CRA - Carlo Ratti Associati and Italo Rota, whose work has been enlightening and will remain indelible.

Through the metaphor of rice, we propose an experience dedicated to skills and well-being, based on the happiness of new discoveries and the unusual, reusing an element of tradition in a completely new and unexpected way.

On the inauguration day, there will be a discussion to illustrate the concept of the project: a big opportunity to reaffirm our values linked to the circular economy and to sustainability, training and innovation, which are all cornerstones shared by us and our partners. Niko Romito, Gilda Bojardi, Carlo Ratti, Tiziana Monterisi, and Professor Martin Kater will participate in the opening event with some speeches.

Another important point of discussion will be the talk entitled 'The study of happiness: education, well-being and the circular economy', which will also be held at the Brera Botanical Garden on Saturday 20th April 2024. The panel, which will be dedicated to skills, the circular economy and how they relate to happiness, will be attended by Virginia Benzi, digital creator and science populariser - @quantum_girl_vivi, Greta Colombo Dugoni, CEO & Co-founder of We are Bi-rex srl Società benefit, Luciano Canova, Economist and populariser. Admission is free on a first come first served basis.

From 15 to 25 April Eni is at the FuoriSalone with sunRICE, la ricetta della felicità.

Circularity and transformation

The route takes the visitor in a circular journey discovering the different interpretations and transformations of rice. First as a plant, then as an ingredient in a 'special recipe' proposed by Niko Romito. Then, thanks to the contribution from the startup RiceHouse, awarded by Joule, Eni's school for enterprise, rice processing waste becomes the building material in the installation designed by architects Carlo Ratti and Italo Rota. Finally, the circle closes with the primary element returning to the earth as the mulch, to encourage the growth of new plants.
