With our Dual flag approach, we relate to the countries where our activities are present and also in Italy we are committed to ensuring that the areas that host our industrial sites share our energy transition path. The Alliances for sustainable development, in line with our decarbonization strategy and the United Nations 2030 Agenda, help create value and support Eni's action for a just and people-centred transition. We work together with the countries in which we operate to promote sustainable development, also through partnerships with nationally and internationally recognised actors. We implement initiatives with a long-term perspective taking into account the promotion and respect of human rights, the challenges of countering the effects of climate change and population growth.
Collaborations with national and international universities and research centres are of strategic importance in accelerating the energy transition through constant commitment and increasing investment in scientific research and technological innovation. We renew partnerships with the world's best universities and research institutions, but at the same time we are open to strong innovation proposals from small dynamic companies, such as start-ups, and we integrate the Open Innovation model into our various business processes.
We support our suppliers in the transition process by promoting dialogue and awareness and stimulating new ideas for a sustainable supply chain. We work to ensure that our business partners contribute to caring for workers affected by the transition and we work to strengthen our human rights management model along the supply chain to adequately identify and manage the impacts the energy transformation may have on current and future activities. In the same way, we support our B2B customers by offering cutting-edge energy solutions to help them play a primary role in the energy transition, as well as private customers to abate their consumption-related emissions.
