Sustainability leads our strategy towards 2050
The global scenario presents us with a number of crucial challenges that will define the present and the near future. Any proposed energy solution must respond to the increase in population coupled with the growth in consumption and ensure the security of supplies in harmony with the strategy to counter climate change.
Companies, governments and institutions are called upon to guarantee the reliability and efficiency of sources, in compliance with the commitments made to keep global warming within the levels established by the Paris Agreement of 2015.
Our journey of industrial and financial transformation, which began in 2014, guided by our mission, allows us to respond to these challenges and build a phased action strategy with concrete and sustainable solutions at the environmental, social and economic levels. The goal to achieve is carbon neutrality by 2050, placing at the base of our approach scientific research and technological innovation, combined with an ever-increasing diversification of supply sources.

The energy trilemma’s challenges
We aim to meet each of the pillars of what the World Energy Council defines as the energy trilemma: achieving environmental sustainability while ensuring energy security and economic and social accessibility for all.
This means accessible and sustainable energy thanks to the diversification of sources at the geographical and technological level. Natural gas continues to play a strategic role in our energy mix as a support for the transition process, leveraging the exploration and production activities we carry out in in several countries.
