In the Western Region in Ghana, we promote numerous initiatives to improve educational standards in coastal community areas in the Ellembelle district.
We want to improve the quality of primary and secondary education provision through extra-curricular and informal learning activities to facilitate access to training and employment opportunities for young people.
The areas where the initiative was developed are part of the area of influence of Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP), a natural gas development project entirely dedicated to the domestic market in sub-Saharan Africa.

Project actions and objectives
New school facilities and teachers for the West Region
Eni Ghana and the International Volunteership (VIS) NGO have signed a cooperation agreement, and launched the project Education is the passport for the future to promote access to training and employment opportunities for young people.
In order to provide adequate conditions and facilities for students to learn, we renovated classrooms, playgrounds and staff areas, toilets, sports fields, libraries, canteens and installed solar panels in 11 primary schools.
The initiatives are part of the Community investment strategy promoted by Eni and its partners Vitol and GNPC, in compliance with the commitments made with the International Finance Corporation and the World Bank for the development of local communities in the areas surrounding the OCTP project facilities.
